Trudie is 18 months old & 66 lbs. She has a LOT of energy and doesn’t know what to do w/ it! Her previous owners, like many people who have never owned a Doberman before, thought that getting a puppy sounded like a good idea. When her constant needs for attention and for training and for exercise for mental engagement exceeded their interest or capabilities . . . she became a stray.

Since coming into Rescue she has been to daycare and seems to get on well with dogs of her own size. We’d suggest she’s not suitable for a home w/small dogs or cats, simply because of her enthusiastic nature and lack of self-control - she means well but will bowl them over and hurt them. Likewise young children. When she gets happy and bouncy, she could easily knock an adult over.

She knows a few basic commands and whoever adopts her will need to have experience of taking a large breed dog to training and completing the course. In foster care she’s being worked on the leash and her prong collar. She’s crate trained , but when she gets bored she likes to rip up bedding.

She’s a high energy dog that will won’t be suitable for just any family. Her foster home will give further updates soon.
